The Arts are a life-enriching medium of celebration and The Fremont Abbey Arts Center is host to a vibrant community of thriving artists and musicians of all forms and genres. We strongly encourage all of our members take advantage of their close proximity to the arts. After all, we are an Arts Center!

Philosophy: We view weddings as an artistic, community-celebrated gathering centered around the love and commitment of two people. As part of our nonprofit mission to support community development, we want to develop a partnership with you (as a member of the Abbey) to ensure a beautiful and unique event for you and your guests.


This is reflected in the wedding and reception booking process and some of the following policies...

  • Limited number of weddings occur each year to make room for other events.
  • With an Abbey Membership, you are able to use the space for your Wedding or community celebration.
  • As an eco-friendly and pretty darn "green" venue (ie. efficient heating, insulation, some lighting, natural cleaning supplies, composting, re-use of materials, etc. we also require everyone to compost, recycle, and reduce waste throughout their event. In fact, a fee is charged for anyone generating over 2 bags of garbage. This helps keep the caterers honest too! :-)
  • An artistic proposal will be requested during the rental process to ensure inclusion of at least two key artistic elements using locally sourced artists such as: - graphic designer (custom invitations, place cards, etc.), - live musicians - event designer / decorator / 'set designer' - literary arts (poem or readings), live painters, etc.

    Good culinary artists/caterers, great photographers, and even creative DJ's are certainly encouraged but do not typically count towards your two required artistic elements. Not to worry though, we will help you find wonderful local artists if you need some ideas!

    If you cannot make a tour and need pricing we can let you know that typical weddings in 2012 will be approximately $2500-3000 or so depending on specifics, date, etc. Holidays and peak season weekends may be slightly higher.

    We do work with low income folks when our budget allows and we typically offer two weddings per year in the off season at a lower price that includes some expectation of barter in return.


    So whatever your creative mind comes up with, we want to help you make it a beautiful experience for everyone involved!
