The Round turns 50 and goes out on the town!
Fremont Abbey Arts Center tradition visits The Triple Door on July 7
SEATTLE – The Fremont Abbey Arts Center is proud to celebrate 50 months of hosting The Round. An intimate evening of music, art and poetry where three singer songwriters share the stage with slam poets and live painters, The Round invites artists to share their craft in a unique & intimate setting. Putting a spotlight on collaboration and community, the Abbey has created an event that is as inspiring to the artists as it is the audience.
Round 50 is gettin' fancy and going downtown on Tuesday, July 7 to one of Seattle’s premier live music venues The Triple Door. Featuring Jesse Sykes, Rosie Thomas, Damien Jurado, poet Buddy Wakefield, the Seattle Rock Orchestra, artist Scott Erickson, Easy Street muralist Glenn Case, Youth Speaks poet Christabel and more, the evening is one not to miss. Tickets are $12 in advance and available for pre-purchase at www.thetripledoor.net. Proceeds will benefit Fremont Abbey Arts Center youth programs.
More about The Round
Founded by Arts Curator Nathan Marion in 2005, The Round developed into a volunteer powered arts experience held every month in Seattle and has now expanding to Tacoma, Portland, Austin, and Lebanon PA. What began as 3 musicians sharing the stage was developed into a multi-arts curated event with live painters and slam poets joining up with even more backing musicians for a night of arts that will never be replicated. The Round has provided many firsts over its 50 months, including young poets or painters performing for their first time in front of an audience. Past rounds have featured everyone from David Bazan, Robin Pecknold Mark Pickerel and Jen Wood to slam poet champs like Danny Sherrard & Matt Gano. Podcasts, videos, photos and more are available at www.theround.org
